Weekly NCLM Confessional

So it's Day 25 and yesterday I blew my 20 day streak. Yes I came up short on my comments. But yesterday was a bad day and by the end of it b and I were engrossed in a TV real crime documentary. I'm a sucka for those things especially when it involves possible spousal murder (can't do the missing/murdered children ones however).

I had decided previously I wasn't going to "make-up" comments if I missed. However some days I do leave more than the mandatory comments and I may figure out my average score by the end of it all and report that here. 'Cause after all tracking's no fun with out some statistical tables and graphs.

On a (some-what) related note, b and I are trying a shopping/eating plan this week. I read--on some blog somewhere--that you should shop every week for the week's food but once a month you should not shop and just eat what's in the house. This is helpful for both the budget and the environment, since wasted food is evil. b loved this idea (he sees it as a culinary challenge) when I suggested it but Boy turned his nose up at it and refused to play along. So we're giving it a trial run along with our trial run of being a twosome instead of a threesome.

While b loves the idea in theory, all week he has been suggesting things we could get from the store. Now last night we did cave (another confessional coming on here) but I think running out of soap and toilet paper was never the intention in the first place. I also stipulated that milk and coffee were always allowable. As it turned out I couldn't live without Guinness either.

25 days already??? Wow, I didn't realize. I must say I am not disappointed though. This has been hard. When it first began, I thought oooohhh fun. And it is fun, but just a lot more work thatn I thought. Of course since my job is to sit here, by myself, and do mostly nothing all day, I have been able to find time.
I like that idea of the food shopping/eating. Had not seen that till now. I dont drink milk (I think I hear my bones crumbling as I type this) and use cream in my coffee. But I do agree that there are "essentials" that one cannot do without (tp). I think I will run it by the hubby. You and the Guiness. Funny girl.

After my No Eating Out challenge, I think I'm over challenges for a while. Between that and NaComLeavMo, I'm done. However, I do think that it's an excellent idea.

"once a month you should not shop and just eat what's in the house"

Now that sounds like an interesting challenge!

As for NCLM, I've fallen behind. But there's still lots of time to catch-up... right?

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Having my wedding at the beginning of the month has put me FAR behind in commenting...but I'm hoping to catch up before the month's end! :D

I love the idea of not shopping once a month and just eating what you already have in the house. So, do you buy extra stuff the week before just to make sure you don't run out of anything? ;) That would probably be defeating the purpose, huh?

HAH! I have been called a lot of things (no really I have been trust me), but a hottie is not one of them (lol). You did, however, make me laugh - hard.
I talked to my husband about the shopping challenge. We are giving it a shot and we started yesterday with this weeks shopping. I think it sounds exciting. He thinks it sounds like there may be canned soup and canned vegetables in his future (heh).

I knew I'd fail miserably at NCLM, and I did not disappoint. It is definitely a lot harder than I anticipated. Oh, the drama. I admire your dedication and organisation. I'm highly envious!

Today is day 13 of me blogging - and I have to ay that I am not being as productive as I'd like. It has been a rough week nd I leave for vacation on Sat. HECTIC!!!!
I think that it is fine to slow a bit now and then..It will give you better things to talk about in the long run.

I have to agree, we couldn't live without Guinness either! That's one of the things I miss most with being pregnant. I'm a bit behind on my NCLM and have pondering trying to catch up. But wanted to stop by to say hi and say your animals are too cute!

Don't feel bad. I've done a horrible job at keeping up. I'm disappointed in myself but there have way too many forces beyond my control working against my bloggy time. sigh... We can only do our best.

Admitting that I'm relieved NCLM is almost over because it's kicking my ass. I often end up doing short comments just to get my quota in (hangs head in shame). A 20 day streak is quite impressive though if you are leaving substantive comments every time! Kudos.
